Chicken and a Gun

Looking at life with a gun aimed at you changes things.  Now that I have your attention, no someone didn’t try and shoot me.  Here is the story:

The Story happened last Saturday while Connie and I were at Popeye’s Chicken.  It was crowded; seemed like everyone in Jennings wanted to eat at Popeye’s at the same time.  There must have been ten cars in the drive thru.  We went inside to order.  A fight broke out between some drive thru customers because someone broke in line.  Someone pulled a gun; needless to say pandemonium broke out.  Five police cars came later and problem was solved.

My thoughts were this…how quickly life can change.  You go to get some chicken and you come face to face with a possible life change situation.  Truly we do not know what a day will bring forth.

The only way to be ready for all the uncertainties of life is literally to stay prayed up and read up.  To face life I need the presence, power and provision of the Lord.  I need to stay as close as I can to Jesus.

As we go through this week there is no telling what we will have to face.  I chose not to be afraid but to live in the confidence and faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Know this that He is going with me every step of the way.
