Moments with Mike
Controlled by circumstances?

I’m sitting in my office looking out of the window at gray skies on a cold day. To be honest, I don’t like cold damp weather. Like most of you, I like clear blue skies and the temperature around 75 degrees. It is amazing how we let things like the weather affect our mood.
I have learned that most of the time it is the outside circumstances that affect my outlook and spirit. Sometimes it is what someone has said or didn’t say. Many times it’s problems and the difficulties of life that affect me. Health, wealth (or lack of it) and even weather can affect us…but is this the way it should be, doomed to be controlled by the circumstances of life? I don’t think so.
Joy, peace, happiness, satisfaction and contentment have to come from within. As I believe the Holy Spirit lives in me, the power, grace and joy to live life is ever present with me in the person of the Holy Spirit. I can and should live above my circumstances. So no matter what the day looks like outside, it can be blue skies and perfect weather in my heart.
I hope each of you has a great week. May God bless you and your family.
Pastor Mike
